We were looking at a picture of a Lockheed Electra Junior that is posted on the wall in EAA meeting hangar and Russell wondered if it was still in Santa Maria and if Ruth Holden still owned it. The last flight was to the TWA museum in Kansas City and it still registered with the FAA. Ruth is 91 years old and was (born on 04/27/1934) and lives in the Bay Area. She tells the story of her father, TWA, the airplane, and how she came to own it.

Dave Chivens wrote about it for one of the EAA newsletters. And AOPA had an article on it. There is a different Lockheed Electra Junior that will be at AirFest in October.

YouTube has a series on TWA and the Electra. The Lockheed 12A was owned by TWA from 1940 to 1945. Ruth Richter Holden is the daughter of TWA founder and pilot Paul E. Richter.
