Paulo Ischold shared some of the things he does on the Red Bull race planes to give his team just the slightest edge over his competitors. Red Bull won’t be sponsoring the races any more but the rules are basically the same. Pilots can fly one of two airframes and each plane has the same engine and prop as the others. So it all comes down to slight differences in the airframe, pilot training, and minimizing the opportunity for mistakes. Surprisingly the team consists of only four people and a budget of $250,000 per season. This plane was previously flown by Kirby Chambliss but will be flown by a new pilot this year in Abu Dhabi.
